Two surgeons joined the Mohawk Valley Health System Surgical Group

Matthew Denson and Kathryn Fitzgerald joined the Mohawk Valley Health System Surgical Group (MVHS) where they will provide general surgical and follow-up care to patients of all ages.

Denson specializes in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, as well as colon pathology and colon cancer surgery. He received a doctorate in osteopathic medicine and a master’s degree in biomedical science from the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Florida. He completed his residency in general surgery at Carepoint Health, Bayonne Medical Center, in Bayonne, New Jersey.

Fitzgerald specializes in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, as well as repair of the abdominal wall and inguinal hernia. She received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Florida. She completed her general surgery residency at Carepoint Health, Bayonne Medical Center, in Bayonne, New Jersey. Fitzgerald is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.

They both have privileges at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center. They are accepting new patients and can be contacted at MVHS Surgical Group, 1658 Champlin Ave., Utica, by calling 315-624-4069.

Maureen McCarthy Tracy, who has served as vice president of community and relations since 2019, now adds the responsibility of leading the company’s relationship management team. • D’Arcangelo & Co. announced several new hires. Brittany Adams was hired as an accountant working in the audit department of the Rome office. In her role, Adams will be assigned various audit and accounting assignments. She recently graduated from SUNY Polytechnic Institute with a dual specialization bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting. Riley Lanckton was hired as an accountant working in the audit department of the Utica office. She will work on a wide variety of auditing and accounting assignments. She recently graduated from Cazenovia College with a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Management with a concentration in Accounting. Kyle Engelhart was hired as an accountant working in the tax department of the Utica office. In his role, he will work on the preparation of tax returns, the preparation of financial statements and assistance with tax planning. He graduated from Utica College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Nicole lilli was hired as an administrative support specialist and works in the Utica office. In her role, Lilli will be responsible for a wide variety of general administrative tasks and special projects in the office. She recently graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College with an Associate’s Degree in General Studies. The company has offices in Utica, Rome, Oneida and Syracuse.

• The Kelberman Center announced the new certifications for members of the clinical team, Justine Bankert and Deborah Staley. Both clinicians received the title of Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). With a background rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the Kelberman Center team works primarily in school counseling, providing behavioral support to individual students, classrooms, faculty and district staff across the region. from central New York. BCBAs work with school psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, social workers, administrators, teachers, staff, and parents to meet the behavioral needs of students facing a wide range of challenges. The Kelberman Center clinics are located in Utica and Syracuse.
