Women’s golf has five named to the All-MAC Academic Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women’s golf team has had five of its student-athletes named to the All-Mid-American Academic Conference team, the league office announced today, June 9.

Junior Olivia Loberg (Bend, Oregon-Summit) won the honor for the second time, while junior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent’s International School)second Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland), Sophie Wygonik (Westland, Michigan-Livonia Franklin)and Paige Zolciak (Perrysburg, Ohio-St. Ursula Academy) picked up their first academic honor from the conference.

Toledo left the team with seven student-athletes, while Akron and northern Illinois followed close behind with six winners.

The All-MAC Academic Honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in both athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a GPA of 3.20 and have competed in at least 50% of the competitions for that particular sport.
